100 - Unwitting accomplice

A milk thief? In our little community? That's hard to believe!

This was one of the scenes I considered yesterday, and I already had the story in mind, but I couldn't find a good a composition for it. And the policeman is floating. I could have angled it so that his shadow connect with his feet, but the shadows have an important role in this story.

099 - Opposites attract

Dim Sum sighs. Why does she always fall in love with the bad-cat types? And he's not even paying attention to her meows.


I discovered another section of Solaria with beautiful homes in them. And well-made mannequins all over, including this black cat.

There's a "bug" in this photo but I can't do much about it. The chairs are floating slightly above the floor, so you might notice that the shadows of the chairs don't touch the feet of the chairs.

098 - Painted and paned

Dim Sum kneads the stone tiled floor before she settles down for a nap, out of the way of foot traffic. She yawns widely and rests on the warm floor, dreaming of the scent of fresh bread as it comes out of the warm oven....


I was intending to take a picture of another spot in the same parcel, but there were too many people there, so I went up another building to take a picture of a stone eagle perched on a terrace as the foreground to the lighthouse. When moving my cam around, I saw that the rooms were mostly empty. So, when I actually arrived inside the room where the terrace connected, the beautiful frescoes and pottery caught my eye, particularly this colorful vase. I also derendered another painted vase to keep the focus on the one in the foreground.

I love pottery, painted or natural, decorated or plain, glazed or unglazed. The affinity I feel for it is very primal, from the red-and-black pottery of Ancient Greece to the clay pottery with stylized designs by Native Americans.

I don't show the frescoes in this picture though, but it's worth the visit.

097 - Solaria soleggiata

Dim Sum enjoys the warm Mediterranean sunset as she listens to the lapping sound of the water and as she watches the gentle wiggle of the images reflected on it. Suddenly, she feels compelled to meow out the strains of an old, old song....

Maveryck Breen started a short, but very interesting, conversation in the comments of my last post. So I went to check out his place, his work, the virtual manifestation of his dream.

I looked up his profile and tried his Picks for what I thought would be a quick teleport. But every one of his Picks named "Solaria" or "Sunland" (all six of them) took me to the same place, where a security thing kept teleporting me home. To my surprise, I got an IM from the owner of the security thing. Apparently, I was in the correct sim, but the wrong parcel. The neighbor (mikerydquist) graciously teleported me to the right parcel. (Thank you!)

The place is charming. And it does have an Italian feel to it.

I took two versions of the same scene. I liked the statue, but I also love the water reflections. The windlight is the same, except the east is in different positions. And so is Dim Sum. The view angle is also slightly different -- 0.606 for the close-up and 0.727 for the more distant version.
